To end off a wonderful week at the Dimity studio, we're looking back at a very special wedding earlier this year. Samantha Joubert Harrison married to her fiancé, Ray, in wintry Dullstroom in a stunning Scottish wedding. Dimity created a sash made from Ray's family tartan which followed the Scottish tradition that says “when the father of the bride hands over his daughter to her soon to be husband at the altar, he will take a piece of the husband’s tartan and place it over the bride to show that she has been given over to a new clan." We also developed the double-sided hand-tying ribbon featuring both the bride and groom’s family tartans. This was used during the ceremony while a poem was read to bless the marriage. Since the wedding was in Winter, Samantha asked Dimity to design her a jacket from her family's clan tartan. Her jacket featured ballet-wrap styling and a shawl collar to finish off her bridal look. We were thrilled to be involved in this beautiful wedding and wish Samantha and Ray a lifetime of happiness.
